CamerasUK reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z612 where they rated the camera 80/100 and wrote;
“Although there are plenty of buttons and dials on the back and top of the Easyshare Z612 it is one of the simpler super zoom cameras. Once you have mastered the buttons and dials you should find the menu system is pretty simple to work through. …I like the Kodak Easyshare Z612. The problem it has is that it is up against some stiff opposition in a tough market. It is one of the easier super zoom digital cameras to get to grips with and I have no real complaints about the picture quality. Well worth considering. “

PCWorld reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z612 where they rated the camera 74/100 and wrote;
“On the bright side, the Z612 exhibited minimal shutter lag and was quick to focus. In my informal testing, these attributes came in handy when I was shooting a baseball game at night. As the light dropped, I adjusted the exposure compensation to keep my shots sufficiently bright. The maximum ISO sensitivity is 400, so I had to shoot at slow speeds, which made the players appear blurry when they moved fast. Unfortunately, I saw a lot of noise when I looked at the images on a computer screen.”

Photoxels reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z612 and wrote;
“The Kodak EasyShare Z612 Zoom is a true Point-and-Shoot digital camera with a comfortable handling and well designed user interface. It is fast in operation with no practical shutter lag at the wide-angle focal length range, is full featured [except for the inexplicably missing Manual WB] and now sports image stabilization…Overall, the Kodak Z612 is capable of producing very good image quality for its category and the images are sharp enough right out of the camera, with rich and appealing colours. Beginner amateur photographers will find that they are getting much more than they’ve bargained for, with lots of room to learn and grow.”

Steve’sDigicams reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z612 and wrote;
“I was very pleased with our image quality results when using the 6-megapixel Fine mode. Our outdoor images showed nice exposure, with beautiful sky detail, and colors are richly saturated…Bottom line - Kodak has created yet another awesome digital package. With an affordable price of only US$399, it offers an outstanding value for a 6-megapixel super-zoom model. With great image quality, speedy performance, Image Stabilization, and loads of useful exposure modes, the Z612 is sure to be a very popular model this year.”

DigitalCameraReview reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z612 and wrote;
“The Z612 is remarkably simple to use (even for neophyte photographers) with dedicated buttons for most functions and menus that are straightforward and easily navigated. Controls are laid out logically and come easily to hand - with one exception. I disliked the thumb wheel jog dial at the top right corner of the camera’s back deck. The idea is great - a sort of rotating func button to easily access the most commonly changed camera settings (shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and exposure bracketing/compensation) but I found it fiddly and imprecise. Finally, I shoot lots of vertical compositions and the Z612’s orientation sensor is the most consistently dependable that I’ve seen to date.”

ThinkCamera reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z612 , rated it 7/10 and wrote;
“I really thought I was going to hate this camera. It is small and plasticky and a lot of the controls can be quite fiddly. I forgave it a lot of this when I saw the pictures. The camera delivers some really nice images and the zoom has a fantastic range. Image stabilisation is essential on a camera this small with a 420mm lens but I’m pleased to say that it works well and removes a lot of blur from pictures. The screen is very pleasant to use and the eyepiece is great. It’s a little flickery in low light but it gains up nicely so that you can always see what is going on regardless of how bright or dark the day. “

CNET reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z612 , rate it 6.3 (good) and wrote;
“As usual with cameras from Kodak, colors looked natural and well saturated in the Z612’s photos. The camera’s automatic white balance produced a very warm, yellowish color cast under our lab’s tungsten lights, though in natural daylight, it yielded neutral colors. The Z612’s tungsten white-balance setting fared better in the lab, though its images were slightly cool. Exposures were accurate, but the camera has a tendency to lose detail in brighter highlights. Worse than that was the heavier than normal purple fringing, as well as JPEG artifacts that caused jaggy edges on some curves and obscured some fine details in other areas of some images. “
