Australians prohibit most plasma televisions.

Australian authorities will adopt a new system for rating energy home electronics. 6ranking system could lead to the disappearance of sales in the State of most modern plasma and LCD televisions.

In an accompanying ranking system report from the federal government says that demand for LCD and plasma screens, which consume much more elektroenergy than conventional televisions, in recent years has grown significantly. Therefore, there is a need for energy rating system as a way to warn the buyer of a possible increase in taxes. In the case of a positive decision, the ratings will be put into operation by 2011.

Representatives of the companies producing “greedy” to power home electronics, noted that the ratings system is undoubtedly useful innovation. But to bring production capacity in line with the new standards would require more time than the Australian government released.
